My dad, Roy, was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer earlier this year. He endured the pre-operative chemotherapy and was operated on in August.
The medical team were great and they treated dad with the utmost professionalism throughout. But as a family we had so many questions that the medical team could not answer.
They put us in touch with OOSO and suddenly there was clarity and understanding. I know that before his operation dad's confidence about "coming out the other side" grew tremendously.
But it wasn't just him who benefited from meeting with the OOSO team. Within the family we each had our own individual worries and concerns.
Naturally there was a lot of overlap between us, but OOSO was there for each member of the family whenever we needed a question answered or a lift out of our deepest period of anxiety.
Significantly for us it wasn't just during office hours. Early morning, late evening and even weekends - if we needed them they were there.
They consistently gave us the strength to believe, to look forward positively, and to adjust to a life with our new dad.
To help our family to repay OOSO I have decided to help them raise funds for their good causes.
Your sponsorship will help OOSO to continue supporting patients and to contribute to the needs of the Upper GI ward at The Churchill Hospital.
Thank you in anticipation.
