We support women facing treatment for primary breast cancer at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) by providing them with a littlelifts Comfort Box at the beginning of their chemotherapy treatment.
In the UK, one in eight women will be affected by breast cancer in their lifetime*. Every year at the NNUH approximately 520 women are treated for primary breast cancer with chemotherapy that’s 43 women a month.
We’re here to support them.
In 2014 at the age of 28, founder of the charity Oa was diagnosed with primary breast cancer. What followed was a whirlwind of emotions and medical appointment before she began her chemotherapy treatment. It was a scary time.
Lifting those down days
Leading up to and during her treatment, Oa was fortunate to have a support network of friends and family to help her along the way - lifting those down days with a few little treats to relieve some of the side effects she experienced.
The impact these small tokens had on Oa’s wellbeing was huge, and so the concept of ‘littlelifts’ was born.
