My Story

In the UK, one in eight women will be affected by breast cancer in their lifetime. My own family was no exception and breast cancer visited itself upon us a number of years ago. Dealing with cancer is a different experience for everybody and I saw first-hand the emotional turmoil, overwhelming sense of the unknown and the whirlwind of medical appointments such a diagnosis creates.

This year I am running the London Marathon in support of a newly formed charity called littlelifts. The purpose of the organisation is to support women facing treatment for primary breast cancer at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH). The support is provided by providing them with a littlelifts comfort box at the beginning of their chemotherapy treatment. Comfort boxes contain especially selected items to help alleviate some of the side effects that patients may experience during their treatment whilst also supporting their emotional wellbeing and providing practical support.

Every year the NNUH treat approximately 520 women for primary breast cancer with Chemotherapy. littlelifts is there to support them and ease what is undoubtedly a difficult time. I hope you can see your way clear to make a small donation to help me give this new charity a head start

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
