Summary Education is key and very much essential to life. Life without education is not something many of us can even contemplate. This is really unfortunate for many girls out here in Sierra Leone and more specifically in the Northern Region. For a host of different reasons, girls across the country are forced to drop out of school and also forced to get married. You can make a difference by donating to TNT. With your passionate heart help is sure to come, we can ensure that 5,000 girl children across TNT-supported projects get back to school and complete their education. And live a decent life they deserve. Challenge In the Northern region of Sierra Leone, uneducated girl children are still a reality. They face numerous hurdles on their road to education. The most difficult of these is the mindset that a girl child is not a 'worthy-enough' investment and the best place for them is the kitchen, unlike their male counterpart. The girl child, with proper education, can bring about a cycle of positive change not only to the family but the nation as a whole. They stay away from early marriages, child labor and other forms of abuses. Solution It is vital for the Right to School for 5,000 Girl Children across our project areas and we will ensure they enroll in school, not to drop out and complete their school year. With your donations, TNT will mobilize and empower parents and communities with awareness against discrimination, child marriages, and labor and promote education; ensure schools have facilities such as water, toilet, teachers, school materials that keeps girl child in school with effective lobbying; make them ready and have access to higher education. Long-Term Impact Our project aims to create a system that understands and gives importance to education for 5,000 girl children by creating an enabling environment where parents and communities are aware of ill effects of girl child marriages and labour. And also help them to understand the importance of education and what it means to educate a girl child. We will also endure continuing to lobby with the government making schools accessible with all facilities that will ensure a girl child will not drop out due to lack of same; bringing an end to girl child discrimination by denying them an education. Furthermore, to advocate lawmakers to design laws that will force every parent to send their girl child to school. Thanks for support these less fortunate children
